Today, Sunday, October 29, 2023, the Women’s Empowerment Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Fallujah organized a scientific workshop entitled “Breast Cancer and the Importance of Early Detection,” in conjunction with the month of October designated globally for breast cancer awareness. Participate in the workshop, which was moderated by Prof. Wafa Enad Abboud, lectured by A.M.D. Hoda Hamid Al-Janabi, a number of female teaching and administrative staff,
as well as a group of female students at the college. The workshop aimed to enhance the awareness of the participants and educate them on the importance of early detection of breast tumors, and explain the types of tumors and the reasons for their occurrence, as well as highlighting methods for identifying them, and how to diagnose them using simple or specialized methods. The workshop recommended the necessity of women, especially those over forty years of age, undergoing periodic examinations for early detection of breast cancer. Breast cancer, in addition to the necessity of resorting to specialized medical centers when feeling the presence of any knot;
In order to diagnose the tumor whether it is benign or malignant, and ensure its timely treatment. This workshop comes within the framework of the University of Fallujah’s keenness to fulfill its societal responsibilities that serve issues related to the importance of women’s health and the family, and raise the level of health awareness to enhance the quality of life for society.
