Today, Sunday, October 29, 2023, the President of the University of Fallujah, Professor Dr. Sabah Ibrahim Hammadi, attended part of the course of the master’s thesis discussion session in the Department of Arabic Language entitled “Manifestations of Survival and Annihilation in Pre-Islamic Poetry” at the College of Islamic Sciences.
The thesis presented by the student Sarah Tawfiq Hadi aimed to explain the concept of two important dualities in pre-Islamic poetry, which are survival and annihilation, as issues that illuminated pre-Islamic poetry, which depicted everything that revolves around it. From the angles of life in the Arabian Peninsula, he expressed this with a vision characterized by hope towards survival, and sorrow and pain towards annihilation. The results of the letter showed that survival and annihilation represent an idea that was evident in the soul of the pre-Islamic poet; Its existence can be traced and explained through two dimensions, the first is material and the second is moral.
The results also showed that the importance and value of poetry of survival and annihilation in the pre-Islamic era crystallizes in the process of poetic creativity and the process of reception, in terms of its significance of the poet’s mastery of his language and his ability to be creative in shaping it in a way that ensures continued communication and interaction between him and the recipient.
