Under the patronage of the distinguished President of the University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, and under the slogan “Intellectual Property and Sustainable Development Goals: Building our common future with innovation and creativity”.
The University of Fallujah, represented by the Center for Continuing Education and the Department of Legal Affairs, and in cooperation with the Directorate of Patents and Industrial Designs of the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control, held a specialized scientific workshop on “Intellectual Property and Sustainable Development Goals.”
The workshop, which was hosted by Al-Jahez Hall in the University Presidency building on Thursday, May 2, 2024, in the presence of the Director of the Continuing Education Center,
the Director of the University President’s Office, and a number of officials from the divisions and administrative units of the University Presidency, aimed to spread awareness of the importance of intellectual property and its role in achieving sustainable development goals, promoting the culture of protecting innovations and creativity, and encouraging researchers and inventors to register patents for their inventions.
The workshop included two main topics, the first of which was lectured by M.M. Ahmed Abdel Khader Jassim to Intellectual Property in Light of Legal Legislation,” while the second topic, which was presented by Professor Etemad Naji Fayyad, shed light on the 17 global sustainable development goals.
This workshop comes within the activities of the week celebrating World Intellectual Property Day, which falls on April 26 of each year.
