Today, Saturday, July 6, 2024, H.E. Professor Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, PhD, took part in the activities of the Anbar University-held First Annual Religious Scholars Forum Under the patronage of the Governor of Anbar, Mr. Mohammed Nouri Al-Dulaimi, and under the slogan “Our Scholars are the Safety Valve.”
The forum was attended by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Administrative Affairs, Professor Adnan Ibrahim Al-Jumaili, PhD, the Commander of Anbar Police, Major General Saleh Mehedi Saleh, along with several provincial security leaders, and a large number of scholars and researchers nationwide.
The events were started with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the playing of the national anthem, and then a recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in the memory of Iraq’s martyrs.
This was followed by a speech from the Governor of Anbar, who emphasized the importance of the role and responsibilities of religious scholars in indocrinating moral and social values, and in promoting the spirit of social cohesion and tolerance among community members.
He also highlighted their active contribution in combating extremist ideas and in building a stable and cohesive peace-minded society.
The forum included a series of dialogue and discussion sessions covering various related topics.
