University of Fallujah Achieves Significant Milestone in Global UI Green Metric Classification
The University of Fallujah has reached a new academic milestone by securing a position in the UI Green Metric Classification for higher education institutions in 2023. This prestigious classification includes over 1,000 universities globally, evaluating institutions based on their efforts in sustainability and environmental responsibility.
The UI Green Metric classification collects key data across six main criteria: infrastructure and green spaces, energy and climate change, transportation, water consumption, waste management, and education and scientific research.
In response to this achievement, University President Professor Dr. Sabah Ibrahim Hammadi expressed immense pride in the dedication of the university’s academic, research, and administrative staff. He acknowledged their collective efforts in meeting global standards of excellence and emphasized the importance of maintaining the university’s progress in international rankings.
Launched in 2010, the UI Green Metric is one of the most important international rankings that assesses universities' commitment to social development and environmental sustainability. It focuses on institutions' adoption of environmentally friendly practices and their efforts to foster awareness both on campus and in the wider community.
This recognition highlights the university’s continued commitment to sustainability and its growing reputation in the global academic community.
