On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, the Fallujah University Council convened for the second meeting of its ninth session for the academic year 2023-2024.
The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, President of the University, and attended by Professor Dr. Suleiman Barak Al-Jumaili, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, along with other council members.
Notably, the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. M.D. Rafi Allawi Fayyad, was absent due to a work mission abroad, and his assistant, A.M.D. Ali Abdul Razzaq Muhammad, represented him.
At the outset, Professor Hamad welcomed the attendees and expressed gratitude to the deans and faculty members for their efforts in completing curricula and final examination requirements for the academic year 2023-2024.
He then presented directives from Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which were discussed during a previous opinion committee meeting.
The council addressed several agenda items and made key decisions:
- Establishment of the Department of Renewable Energy Technologies: This new department will be part of the Center for Biotechnology and Environmental Technology.
- Approval of Final Exam Results: The results of the second semester's first round of final exams were approved.
- Strategic Plan Approval: The strategic plan for the University of Fallujah (2021-2026) was officially approved.
- Faculty Promotions: Requests for academic promotions to the rank of professor were approved for several faculty members.
The meeting also covered various academic and administrative topics, with recommendations made accordingly. In conclusion, Professor Hamad emphasized the importance of monitoring employee behavior and enforcing professional conduct rules aligned with ethical and social values.
