The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Fallujah discussed the master’s thesis in the Sharia Department entitled “Jurisprudential rulings deduced from the narrations of Yunus bin Ubaid al-Abdi in the Four Sunnahs in Worship and Transactions - A Comparative Study.”
The thesis submitted by the student Aisha Muthanna Abdul Hamid under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Abdul Majeed aimed to highlight the scholarly status of Imam Yunus bin Ubaid al-Abdi, may God have mercy on him, and to study his narrations, which included the four Sunans, a comparative study from a jurisprudential standpoint.
The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Abbas and the membership of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Bandar Ali, and A.M.D. Amjad Monitor Daoud. The findings of the thesis showed that Imam Yunus bin Ubaid al-Abdi was considered one of the junior followers, but he was one of the scholars and jurists of his time, and that the jurisprudential rulings deduced from his narrations were diverse.
