On Thursday, February 22, 2024, an academic delegation from the University of Fallujah participated in a seminar organized by the Institute of Continuing Education at the American University in Baghdad. The seminar, titled “Academic Accreditation and International Standards in the Management of Educational Institutions”, featured a lecture presented by Professor Dr. Khalil Ibrahim Mahmoud.
The lecture covered several important topics, including:
- Introductions to the quality of education and modern international quality systems.
- The application of these systems in Iraq.
- International specifications for university quality management and institutional accreditation standards.
- A comparison between the ISO 9001:2015 system (QMS) and the Educational Institutions Management System (EOMS) ISO 21001:2019.
- The similarities and differences between academic accreditation and modern ISO specifications, focusing on the need for universities to implement additional specifications like ISO 50001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
This participation aligns with the University of Fallujah’s commitment to strengthening scientific and academic cooperation with various academic institutions. It also emphasizes the University’s dedication to enhancing the quality of education in Iraq through the adoption of international standards.
