University of Fallujah Hosts Workshop on Reducing Financial and Administrative Corruption
Fallujah, December 11, 2023 – On Monday, December 11, 2023, the Legal Affairs Department at the Presidency of the University of Fallujah, in collaboration with the Center for Continuing Education, held a legal workshop titled “Ways to Reduce the Phenomena of Financial and Administrative Corruption: Causes and Treatment.” This workshop was conducted in conjunction with International Anti-Corruption Day and the launch of Integrity Week activities.
The workshop, led by M.M. Muthanna Fayez Abdel, the Director of the Legal Affairs Department, was attended by a number of employees from the university’s presidency departments. The session aimed to promote the values of integrity and transparency, emphasize the importance of respecting the law, and highlight the need to protect public funds.
Key topics covered included:
- Defining financial and administrative corruption, its causes, and methods for addressing it.
- Highlighting the role and efforts of the Federal Integrity Commission in investigating integrity-related criminal complaints.
- Reviewing essential recommendations for employees to follow in order to avoid administrative issues.
- Explaining relevant Iraqi laws, such as the Integrity and Illicit Gain Commission Law No. 30, which regulates anti-corruption efforts.
This workshop is part of a broader series of seminars and workshops organized by the University of Fallujah to enhance the skills and knowledge of its members, helping to foster a culture of integrity within the institution.
