Awareness seminar at the College of Law on the role of youth in confronting the challenges posed by terrorism
Under the patronage of the respected President of the University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, and under the supervision of the respected Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Raed Naji Ahmed, the Human Rights Division at the Presidency of Fallujah University, in cooperation with the Legal Affairs Unit at the College of Law, organized an awareness seminar entitled "The Role of Youth in Confronting Terrorism".
The seminar, in which the Head of the Human Rights Division, Assistant Professor Dr. Dhaham Muhammad Al-Azzawi, lectured, addressed the concept of terrorism from a legal and political perspective, reviewing the history of terrorism, its forms, means, goals and motives, and the parties that practice it.
The seminar touched on the reasons that may lead some young people to drift towards extremist ideas, pointing to the impact of poverty, unemployment, and weak social ties in this.
Dr. Al-Azzawi also discussed the role of the media and social media in shaping awareness among young people, indicating how these tools can have a positive or negative impact at the same time.
At the end of the symposium, Dr. Al-Azzawi called on young people to adopt the values of tolerance, justice, and love, stressing the importance of directing the positive energies of young people to serve society and build a better future.
This symposium comes within the framework of Fallujah University's efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, sensing the importance of its role in enhancing intellectual security, which is one of the most prominent factors that contribute to preventing crime and confronting intellectual deviation, social phenomena, and security problems that affect society.
