The President of the University of Fallujah, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, received on Thursday, May 16, 2024, in his official office in the University Presidency building, calligrapher Kamal Al-Jumaili.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the University welcomed the visiting guest and praised his artistic career and his valuable contributions in the field of Arabic calligraphy.
The President of the University spoke about the importance of paying attention to the art of Arabic calligraphy, saying: “Arabic calligraphy has had a prominent position since its inception and its path has been linked to the Islamic religion.
It is the pillar that preserved the Holy Qur’an in writing, from the era of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, until our present era. It also gives the reader feelings of psychological comfort when reading the text written in a beautiful and clear handwriting.”
His Excellency pointed out that Arabic calligraphy is one of the manifestations of Arab and Islamic civilization, and it has an important role in teaching the Arabic language and increasing its popularity. At the end of the meeting, calligrapher Kamal Al-Jumaili expressed his thanks and gratitude to the President of the University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, for the good reception.
He also presented to His Excellency a set of paintings on which he had written Qur’anic verses.
