Based on the direction of the distinguished President of the University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, the University of Fallujah, represented by the Human Rights Division, on Thursday, January 2, 2025, the Women’s Affairs Division, and the Sustainable Development Unit, in cooperation with the Fallujah Education Department, organized an educational workshop on the right to education for students of Al-Rusafi Preparatory School for Boys in the city of Fallujah.
The symposium, in which the official of the Human Rights Division at the University Presidency lectured, discussed, Prof. Daham Muhammad Al-Azzawi, the right to education, and its importance in human life.
International experiences were also discussed that showed that investing in education contributes to achieving the comprehensive development of societies, in addition to the Iraqi experience, as the Iraqi constitution and Iraqi laws stipulate the right to education as a basic right for the Iraqi citizen, as it constitutes a basis for the development and progress of society.
As indicated during the symposium, the official of the Women’s Affairs Division at the University Presidency, Prof. Prof. Lamia Adnan, pointed out the impact that education has in enhancing the role of women in community development, while the head of the Sustainable Development Unit, A.M.D., presented. Alaa Fayek, summarizing the importance of education in enabling a person to acquire the skills necessary for the labor market, and enhancing his ability to make better decisions and plan for the future.
In a related context, the two professors in the university presidency participated in interventions during the symposium, as M.M. presented. Ayman Hammoud, a presentation on the role of education in enhancing social awareness and encouraging peaceful coexistence within society, as explained by M.M. Bakr Hatem, The impact of education in reducing the phenomenon of pollution and climate change on society.
This symposium comes within the volunteer and educational campaigns, organized by the University of Fallujah, to educate community members about basic human rights, including the right to education among school students in the city of Fallujah
