Master's Thesis Defense at the University of Fallujah's College of Islamic Sciences
On Sunday, September 10, 2023, the Department of Sharia at the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Fallujah discussed the master's thesis titled "Jurisprudential Issues in Which Two Aspects Were Mentioned According to the Shafi’is in the Book Al-Bayan by Al-Omrani" (d. 558 AH). The thesis was presented by student Muhammad Jabbar Hussein and focused on a comparative study from the chapter on what spoils pure water and what does not spoil it, to the chapter on siwak.
The research aimed to collect and study issues with two aspects according to the Shafi’i school, as presented in Al-Omrani's book Al-Bayan, and explained their impact on contemporary fatwas. The findings of the thesis revealed that Al-Omrani’s book contained several issues with two aspects, each addressing various jurisprudential aspects.
This study contributes to the deeper understanding of Shafi’i jurisprudence, particularly in relation to the issues of ritual purity and the use of siwak, providing valuable insights into the evolution of Islamic legal thought.
