On Sunday, August 9, 2024, the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Fallujah discussed the higher diploma thesis equivalent to a master’s degree in moderation and moderation, entitled “The impact of contemporary trends of Sunni endowment institutions in promoting the values of moderation in Iraqi society - an applied study.”
The thesis submitted by the student Muhammad Ibrahim Muhammad Sarhid, under the supervision of Prof. Wathiq Abdul Razzaq Abdul Majeed, aimed to reveal the role of Sunni endowment institutions in achieving the values of moderation in Iraqi society and combating fanaticism and extremism, and highlighting the Islamic religion’s guidance and guidance for societies, as it carries all the foundations of the human sciences that promote the values of moderation.
It also aimed to find out the opinions of scholars on the subject of moderation in the Islamic concept, and to emphasize that moderation in Islamic thought should be far from extremism and deviation.
The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Khalaf Abbas, and its membership included Prof. Dr. Thamer Hassan Sabr, and A.M.D. Yasser Abdul Rahman Saleh.
The letter reached a number of results, the most important of which was that adhering to moderation in Islamic thought is the way to ward off temptations and show the way to building a strong and cohesive society.
The results of the letter also confirmed that moderation is one of the laws of Islam that it calls for, whether in material or spiritual matters, and which calls for a balance between rights and duties without excess or negligence.
The results of the letter indicated that fanaticism leads to division and distance from peace and coexistence.
