On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, the University of Fallujah Council held its first session for the academic year 2024-2025, headed by the esteemed President of the University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, and in the presence of the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Suleiman Barak Al-Jumaili, and all members of the Council, in addition to the representative of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate on the Council, Professor Dr. Saad Thabet Jassim.
At the beginning of the session, the esteemed President of the University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, welcomed the members. He congratulated the university employees on the occasion of the start of the new academic year, wishing everyone success in their academic and scientific tasks, and looking forward to the academic year being one crowned with achievements at all levels.
During the session, His Excellency reviewed the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, in the eighth electronic meeting, stressing the need to take the necessary measures to implement them. The President of the University congratulated the people of Anbar Governorate and the city of Fallujah on the establishment of the new College of Education, which includes the Departments of Life Sciences and Arabic Language, expressing his hope that this College will contribute to meeting the needs of the labor market with qualified competencies.
He also stressed the importance of encouraging students to actively participate in the Higher Education Reading Award Competition in its second edition, which was launched by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi.
The attendees addressed a number of topics on the agenda, and made recommendations and decisions, including:
- Recommending the introduction of evening studies in the College of Education.
- Adopting auxiliary curricula in the College of Law, written by a teaching staff in the College.
- Granting an exceptional extension to a master’s student in the College of Islamic Sciences.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, stressed the need for students and lecturers to attend normally starting from the first day of study. He also instructed the initiation of the distribution of study materials to teachers and the preparation of weekly lecture schedules, noting the necessity of adhering to uniform regulations according to the colors proposed by the Registration and Student Affairs Department, and taking into account decency, the teachings of the Islamic religion, and public taste in dress.
