The Legal Affairs Department is one of the active departments within the university presidency, serving as an essential legal reference for all presidency departments as well as university formations.
The department is responsible for providing legal opinions and consultations on all legal matters concerning the university in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and instructions. It organizes all matters related to contracts and guarantees for university staff and follows up on the university's real estate properties, confirming allocations and transferring ownership. It also monitors legal cases filed against the university by third parties, as well as cases filed by the university.
Additionally, the department reviews, follows up on, and takes necessary actions regarding administrative and legal correspondences according to assigned authorities. It coordinates with various government institutions to complete and legally follow up on university-related matters. It also certifies guarantees, commitments, and contracts in the capacity of a notary public within the university. Furthermore, the department participates in investigative committees, reviews appeals and grievances, and ensures the protection of the university’s rights and those of its employees.
The department consists of several divisions, including the Legal Consultation Division, the Real Estate and University Housing Division, the Contracts and Guarantees Division, and the Rights and Legal Cases Division.
