Overview, Vision, and Goals of the Consulting Office for Information Systems and Electronic Services
Overview of the Office:
The consulting office was established in 2017, under the Presidency of the University of Fallujah, after the founding of the Electronic Computing Center. The office joined the center to contribute—along with other university departments—to providing scientifically qualified capacities in the field of information systems, meeting the needs of institutions in both public and private sectors during the age of the information revolution and the new integrated industrial revolution, known as the "Information Revolution."
This revolution is driven by three core elements of information technology: hardware, software, and communication media, which form the backbone of creating competitive advantages for modern organizations.
The office aims to develop all state institutions and their staff in the use of computers through training courses in information technology and computing.
Vision, Mission, and Goals Derived from the Office’s Establishment
Vision:
To build and establish a pioneering scientific and professional consulting office, serving as a window into modern electronic knowledge, through which state institutions stay informed on contemporary developments and changes in the business environment both nationally and globally.
Mission:
Continuous efforts to enhance the performance level of human resources and prepare cadres capable of using technology across all administrative and accounting functions, contributing to comprehensive and sustainable development in Iraq.
Goals:
The Consulting Office for Information Systems and Electronic Services aims to enhance the practical side by providing suitable technologies and leveraging technical and scientific expertise to meet the current and future technological needs of the university and surrounding community through the following means:
- Development of scientific and information systems through self-funding of center activities.
- Providing scientific, technical, and teaching consultations and services to government departments and the public and private sectors at affordable fees.
- Offering services to citizens at reasonable prices.
- Using well-known marketing techniques to promote its services and products.
- Promoting awareness and knowledge in the use of computers in various applied activities.
- Supporting staff with creative and innovative ideas in information and communication technology.
- Supporting innovative youth by attracting related projects and innovations through financial resources, expertise, workplace availability, and technical consulting services.
- Contributing to community services in economic and service activities within the field of information technology.
- Enhancing the professional practice level in Iraq.
- Increasing the professional and applied experience of faculty members and technicians.
- Exchanging experiences with similar offices and related institutions inside and outside Iraq.
Strategy:
We exert our utmost efforts to deliver services that meet the expectations of beneficiaries with high efficiency and reasonable costs. In providing our services, we take the following into account:
- Ensuring that services meet the actual needs and are meaningful to the client.
- Delivering services according to professional standards, including independence, objectivity, and integrity.
- Providing services at a level that exceeds beneficiary expectations whenever possible.
- Ensuring the value of the service is at least equal to its cost.
- Delivering services within specific deadlines.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Logical planning for each service or task individually.
- Maintaining continuous communication with clients and working as one team to provide services at the right time and place.
Tasks and Activities Performed by the Consulting Office:
- Computer proficiency courses for applicants to postgraduate studies and for academic promotion.
- Computer maintenance and technologies
- Network setup (NETWORK)
- Providing training courses in all fields of computing, including system and software development, database creation across various areas, and project management and business administration training.
- Offering training in logical design software and engineering programs.
- Supplying government departments and institutions with all kinds of electronic devices, setting up internet networks, and delivering specialized courses for university professors for the purpose of scientific promotion (those holding academic titles such as Assistant Professor, Lecturer, and Assistant Lecturer).
The specialization also qualifies students to acquire scientific knowledge in information systems, computer science, and administrative activities through studying important subjects such as strategic planning, change management, effective communication tools, programming languages, databases, systems analysis, data processing, and output presentation—thereby improving the quality of services provided by institutions and enabling fast, accurate information delivery at all administrative levels, facilitating their activities and supporting effective decision-making.
